About Door54 Guest Suites
Door54 Luxury Guest Suites, conveniently located Centro/Hotel Zone, is a 1.5 block walk from Merida’s PRIME pedestrian boulevard Paseo de Montejo at Calle 35. Suites are available to the ADULT independent traveler by the night or week (18+ years old ONLY). We have 4 newly created suites that are very private and include plush king size beds, large bathrooms with custom showers and double vanities. ONLY one of our suites has a Queen+Double bed configuration (Suite 2).
The Space
Originally Casa del Sanchez, a single-family home for over 50 years, Door54 Luxury Guest Suites was created therefrom. The original house was converted into two large studio style guest suites with spacious bathrooms that provide access through its corridor to the central courtyard/patio where there is a small outdoor kitchenette & bar area that overlooks the pool. Beyond our lounging pool are the two rear suites that were created as a 2 story building of all new construction and they also boast our heavenly soft King Sized beds and GREAT linens with large window views of the pool/patio area.
Guest Access
Often we will Uber out and walk home or vice versa depending on the weather, event of the evening and mood which can easily be determined by the shoes worn that night. It is so enjoyable to simply stroll up and down Paseo de Montejo though and we think you will love it too. You will have exclusive access to your PRIVATE room and its large bathroom and share the common spaces (pool, patio & outdoor kitchen/bar area) with the other guests.
Interaction with Guests
We offer luxury suites for the independent traveler. Check-in is typically by pre-provided keypad access through our main door on Calle 54 and preassigned suite number. However myself or a staff member live onsite/nearby if you need anything specific, so just message us. We offer local knowledge and Traveler Suggestions via pdf and hard copy in your guest suite and via Social Media to assist you with your Merida experience.
Other Things to Note
If you have a larger group, we have a total of 4 guest suites and you can book as many as you like, subject to availability. We limit occupancy and visitors to ADULTS ONLY and 2 per room and we also have hammocks available if the King bed alone will not handle your needs or is preferred. We permit up to 4 adults in Suite 2, which has the Queen+Double bed configuration.
On-Site Amenities
Air conditioning, WiFi, in-suite safe, bath & bed linens, soap & shampoo, toilet paper, hot water, iron, hair dryer, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishes, glasses, cups and silverware are all included as standard amenities. Our lounging pool with Mayan waterfall and pool lounging area are also included with your rental. Guest access is via the common entrance from Calle 54 and each suite is private with its own bathroom and sitting area. Luggage dropoff/storage is allowed by PRIOR AGREEMENT (for guests’ convenience when they have an early arrival or late departure). Long term stays are often allowed (28 days or more). Fee-based laundry service is available with advance notice.
The Neighborhood
Door54 Guest Suites is located in a mixed-use neighborhood and we are surrounded by single & multifamily residential, several hotels, many medical offices due to our proximity to CMA, one of the larger hospitals in Merida and some other commercial uses and tiendas (small stores for buying basic provisions like drinks, snacks & beer). And we are only 3 blocks away from Walmart!
Getting around
DiDi or Uber apps are by FAR the best, but old school style taxis can usually be found at Hotel Conquistador on the corner of Calle 35 & Paseo Montejo, 1.5 blocks away. Rental cars can be picked up and dropped off at Montejo Rental Cars, which is about 5 blocks from D54GS. On Sundays, they have the Bici-Ruta on Paseo de Montejo whereby they close the east lane (northbound) of Paseo Montejo and allow everyone to ride bicycles (which are available to rent there), walk & skateboard from the Monument around C29 to the north all the way to the Zocalo at C63.
Policies
– Not safe or suitable for minors and pets – This property was designed and is for adult occupancy ONLY. 18+ years of age and NO PETS allowed.
– No smoking in guest suites EVER, no parties or group events – registered guests ONLY are permitted onsite.
– Check-in time is 3PM – 11PM and check out by 11AM (other times by ADVANCE AGREEMENT ONLY)
– We maintain a peaceful and relatively quiet atmosphere most times but definitely after 10PM until 8AM.
– Adults ONLY 18+ years old
– Smoking in the outdoor area only – proper disposal of butts/ashes REQUIRED.
– Suite 4 is our only 2nd floor suite and requires spiral stair access, all others are ground floor.
– Access to the property is for REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY.
– 10pm-8am is what we call TRANQUILO here in Mexico, relaxed and calm with limited noise.
– Adults ONLY 18+ years old
– Smoking in the outdoor area only – proper disposal of butts/ashes REQUIRED.
– Suite 4 is our only 2nd floor suite and requires spiral stair access, all others are ground floor.

You must also acknowledge
Potential for noise – Although the property is focused inside itself, it is located in a typical Mexican downtown mixed-use neighborhood.
Security Deposit – if you damage our property you will be charged the cost of repairing or replacing the damaged property plus the cost of oversight of this repair or replacement and any loss of revenue due to the damage. We will secure a deposit in the amount of $250 (USD) against your credit or debit card, which will be promptly released after you have checked out and the property has been inspected, subject to the timeframe required by the credit card processor and banks involved (usually 1-3 business days).
Some spaces are shared – the common areas include the pool, patio and outdoor kitchenette and corridors accessing the rooms, however, all suites have a private bath, wet bar, and sitting area.
Surveillance or recording devices on property – we maintain video equipment in the common areas
Cancellations
Free cancellation 14 days before earliest available check-in time
Cancel after that timeframe shall be charged for a 1-night stay on reservations of 6 nights or less and 2 nights on reservations of more than 6 nights.
